Blog #2

Reading the book you can see that Ethan is suffering from a gambling addiction because he thought it would be easy money to get to buy his dream car but he keeps losing and cannot quit. Ethan's traits are that of a rebel towards his dad because he wants him to start cleaning up his act and Ethan does not want to listen to him.
Ethan is also caring towards his girlfriend in the beginning of the novel but once he started gambling he started to drift away from her.
He is also reckless because in the beginning of the book he did not care for his safety, safety of others or property when he was driving his dads Volvo recklessly down the streets towards his house.

My question to you is what opinion do you have of Ethan so far, and what traits would you label yourself as having and why.

  1. Some traits I would label myself are I'm a caring person, always put others before myself but I can also be really sassy to people who annoy me or because I feel like it :)

  2. My opinion on Ethan is that he should not be Gambling because It loses more of his chances of getting the car he wants to save up for but at the same time, a Mustang Cobra would not be a good car for daily driving especially for a young driver. The traits I could set myself to is that I am a open person, with the ability to be open, I can communicate easier with peers.

  3. Ethan is slowly drifting away from the people that are caring for him. The gambling addiction is sucking away time and any association people want to have with him. As you said he has lost any connection with his girlfriend because of gambling. Also he wants to purchase his dream car but as you said he is a very careless driver the concept of driving a faster car does not make logical sense for his driving ability.
Some traits I possess would be having an open personality allowing me to freely talk with more people with ease. Also a strong bond for sports and work alike shows I have integrity with what I do.
