The end of my book has Ethan solving his conflict. The main problem in my novel was Ethan suffering from a gambling addiction. Ethan wanted easy money to pay back his debts he asked Hornsby (the person who started his addiction) how he can do it. He tells Ethan there are to ways the risky way and the easy way. The easy way was for him to tell his dad about it but he got into an argument with his dad before he could tell him. He then tells Hornsby that he is going with the risky way. Hornsby then tells Ethan to meet him at his car by a convince store. when Ethan gets into his car Hornsby tells him that he has to rob the convince store to get his money back. Ethan the refuses and gets out of the car Hornsby then holds a gun to his head and tells them he has to rob the store. Ethan's sister then comes to save Ethan getting shot in the processes. When Ethan is at the hospital he talks to his dad and tells him what happened with Hornsby and the police tell his dad that Hornsby gets teenagers in debt with gambling and offers them a way out by getting them to rob a store. Ethan's father then pays off the money he owes so Ethan can stop. Ethan then finds out that it is not a car or money that is important in his life it is his family.
Question
My question to you is what would you do in Ethan's Situation (how will you pay back the money) and what is truly important to you in your life.

Blog #2
Reading the book you can see that Ethan is suffering from a gambling addiction because he thought it would be easy money to get to buy his dream car but he keeps losing and cannot quit. Ethan's traits are that of a rebel towards his dad because he wants him to start cleaning up his act and Ethan does not want to listen to him.
Ethan is also caring towards his girlfriend in the beginning of the novel but once he started gambling he started to drift away from her.
He is also reckless because in the beginning of the book he did not care for his safety, safety of others or property when he was driving his dads Volvo recklessly down the streets towards his house.
My question to you is what opinion do you have of Ethan so far, and what traits would you label yourself as having and why.

Running On Empty
"Running on Empty" is a novel about a teenager who crashes his dads Volvo into his garage. His dad then tells him that he has to pay for all the damage done to the car and garage with the money he had been saving up to buy his dream car a Mustang Cobra. Even with all the money he had saved up it did not cover all of the repair bills, so he was forced to get a job to pay off the rest of bills. He starts to resent his father for making him pay for all the repair bills. He then starts to get into arguments with his dad and skips school. His dad then tells him that he is going to have to clean up his act because he does not want to get a bad reputation because of his son. His father is going to campaign to become a politician soon.
My question to you is what would you do in his situation.
